Reader “Jenny” sent us a link to a silicone case from Asiajunk manufacturer UXSight. It purports to show an iPod Touch 3G - third generation, not third generation wireless - with two holes for a camera. Maybe one is for the flash? Or for a little pencil that comes out and draws the subject on a piece of paper?
Remember: Apple never releases designs to vendors until the absolute last minute. If we were to see anything it would happen in August at the earliest. Go back to your hot dogs.

The case appears to have a big hole near the top. If that means a camera on the new version that'd be nice. Can't vouch for the creditability of the source, but I guess $1.69 is not much of a risk. We really don’t know where the truth lies. But we have a pretty good idea as to when it may lie — September, the traditional month for iPod updates. Expect analysts to begin “predicting” this soon.

... camera. It just seems like it would have been so easy to include, since the iPhone has one. Well it’s about time for Apple to refresh the Touch, and it looks like a camera might finally be on the spec list.
Sure, rumors can come from nowhere, but apparently one accessory maker has shown a new iPod Touch case with a hole in the back, exactly where a camera would be. Even more interesting is that another maker has shown an iPod Nano case with a similar camera hole.
