Apple ditches the keyboard for the wheel

At the Macworld Expo, Steve Jobs announced a revolutionary new laptop which has no keyboard but a wheel to do the typing. A crazy idea which sounds crazier when reported by people at ' The Onion '. [image]

Vale que hoy sea la keynote de Apple en la Macworld, pero seguramente no podamos ver nunca esta MacBook Wheel.
Otra genial producción de The Onion.

Apple does away with keyboards, introducing ‘MacBook Wheel’
CrunchGear —
Proving that simple really is better, it’s been leaked that Apple will announce the MacBook Wheel today – a MacBook with a giant iPod-like clickwheel in place of a keyboard.
Looks great, I’ll buy four! This is a blogger’s dream!

Apple's "Other" Announcement at Macworld
GeekSugar —
Wow, I cannot believe that I missed an Apple product unveiling during the keynote speech at Macworld yesterday. I guess between the new iPhoto and iMovie announcements and the big 17-inch MacBook Pro reveal, I got so carried away that I didn't pay attention to this revolutionary new product — the MacBook wheel. So simple, so powerful, so user-friendly — Who knew that everything could be only a few hundred clicks away!

And now a not-so-real Apple concept…
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
Having just posted on the Apple Knowledge Navigator, which was a real concept “back in the day”, now I turn my attention to something that tickled me on TheOnion.com - namely the new concept for the MacBook Wheel…
<parody alert!>
Now those of you that don’t go in for tech geek humour are not going to get a lot out of this - but appreciate if you will the effort that has gone in to this - and, the cutting (oh so cutting) humour in it - just awesome. I won’t spoil it with any screen grabs - watch the video!

Apple MacBook Wheel Concept
Mobilewhack.com —
This is a rather odd concept of something similar to a laptop. I mean the Macbook Wheel of course. Well, Apple with the help of Onion is reinventing the wheel in a, what some would call, revolutionary way. The Wheel is going to replace the keyboard with a touch-sensitive click wheel and it has been introduced at the annual Mac Expo. I guess we’ll be saying bye bye to typing pretty soon as the new Mac also has a predictive sentence technology in the works. Yeah, I know, not much you can say there! The new Macbook won’t be out on the market for some 3 to 15 months and will cost between $2,599 and $9,960. And that, my friends, makes it the most expensive Mac ...
iPod Suffle 3rd Gen Review
SlashGear —
For those of you who poke fun at Apple’s design philosophy, you have some new joke material. Not to be outdone by the single button concept on the iPhone, Apple has created a device with ZERO buttons. The new iPod Shuffle concept might just fool you for an Onion story: no buttons, proprietary headphones, and next you’re going to tell me it talks to me too, right?
Sizing it up
Apple has relocated all buttons to controls on the proprietary ear buds. All that remains on the small device is the “On, Loop, Shuffle” switch and the headphone jack used for listening and syncing. It’s different, and ...
Silly video: The too-big-for-its-own-good Kindle 9 XXXD
CrunchGear —
Oh, Internet! This here is a silly video showing a future version of the Amazon Kindle, the Kindle 9 XXXD. Why, it’s so big it can’t possibly be practical to use!
And, for the record, I could have sworn I saw this same concept—examine what a current gadget will look like in the future, to humorous results—on the Onion last year.
Still, cute.
The Onion Launches Microfiche iPhone App
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
There was a time when people wrote news online before The Onion, but it was an era of darkness where blogging consisted primarily of would-be authors rolling their faces around on a keyboard and hitting the “Publish” button. The Onion has surely ushered in a golden era of electronic journalism since then, and for that we owe them an eternal ...
World's cheapest, ugliest iPhone case
iPhone Atlas —
... I'm impressed. This is something you'd expect to see from the Onion News Network, not from a real tech company. And while the recession has hopefully ended, plenty of people are still hurting, even a couple of iPhone owners. ...
