Prototype iPhone Emerges On eBay, Called Skankphone
GadgetReview —
What did the first iPhone’s UI look like? Shit, if you ask me. Yup. You can head over to eBay and throw down a bid on this prototype iPhone. There is in fact two version up for grabs: one is a plastic screened version that actually, sort of works, while the other is similar to the EDGE iPhone in build but doesn’t turn on. It’s also not void of humor and includes ’subtitles’ such as ‘Skank is the new black’, ‘Nine parts perspiration’ and ‘Say hello to the Newton MessagePad 3000′. Currently, the auction has 18 bids with a current bid of $310. I wonder how fast Apple will pull this, real or ...

iPhone prototype surfaces on eBay, aims to fetch a pretty penny
Engadget —
Okay, so we'll go ahead and crush a few dreams up front -- there's nothing here that proves this isn't some funky KIRF iPhone or just an ad hoc or jailbroken app making things look completely funkadelic. Now that our skepticism is out in the open, we'll be honest and say we really, really hope this is legitimate. According to the eBay description, this ...
iPhone prototypes hit eBay
Boing Boing Gadgets —
A pair of claimed early iPhone prototypes found thir way to eBay and will fetch more than $1,000. Currently at $940 after 45 bids, the double pack is described as rare and collectible, though only one of the two works.
The phone that works is pretty neat to use. It does make calls(with my ATT sim), and I can surf the net. However when I did get to web pages they were the mobile versions, not the regular versions. I can't figure out how to set a ringtone, it is just silent right now. I can receive SMS but not compose my own, other than 5 included test messages. It doesn't sync to itunes. Camera seems to work. It ...
Hideous iPhone Prototypes on Ebay
Wired: Gadget Lab —
This picture shows, quite astonishingly, a real iPhone. It is one of two prototypes currently for sale on Ebay, although this is the only one that works. The phone that works is pretty neat to use. It does make calls (with my ATT sim), and I can surf the net. However when I did get to web pages they were the mobile versions, not the regular versions. I can't figure out how to set a ringtone, it is just silent right now. I can receive SMS but not compose my own, other than 5 included test messages. It doesn't sync to itunes. Camera seems to work. It has tons of testing options.

Skankphone Newton 3000 - Old iPhone prototypes show up on eBay
D' Technology Weblog —
It looks like someone got their mitts on a piece of technology history over at 1 Infinite Loop. Someone is selling some prototype iPhones with a wacky pre-iPhone type of OS on it. One of the iPhones actually even works.
Phone #1: -Powers on OK - GSM service works -Plastic matte screen (see pics) -Serial number YM649xxxxxx which corresponds to a factory in China, manufactured week 49 of the year 2006. -Runs iPhone OS 03.06.01_G (iPhone Launch OS 1.0 was version 03.11.02_G) -Good cosmetic condition

Apple iPhone Prototypes Fetching Big Bucks on eBay
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
Ever want to get your hands on an iPhone prototype? Thankfully someone out in Illinois has a few prototypes kicking around, and both are up for sale on eBay. A working version has a matte plastic screen, while the other doesn’t seem to be working at all, and could be used best for parts I suppose.
The working prototype does look to be able to send and receive calls… Not too much more functionality can be found within, aside from the ability to receive text messages.
I was immediately skeptical when I checked this out, but the seller does appear to have given some serial numbers that would back up his ‘iPhone Prototype’ claims. ...
Moto built prototype iPhone OS?
Gadgetell —
Section: Communications, Cellphones, Smartphones, Mobile
I am still blown away by these images. These purported prototypes are currently for sale on eBay, currently at $940. They are said to be models produced 6 months before the release of the phone and while the hardware looks pretty similar to the release version, the software is no where near ready for prime time. And that is the best part.
While not everyone loves the iPhone, I believe we can all look at this image and see why the iPhone has been so hard to catch. Just like so many LG, Samsung, or Nokia phones, the hardware looks great, but the ...

... I like how the matte screen looks. And definitely, I love how fast this thing is. The Interface icons are fugly, but the combination of colors and the rounded buttons remind me of the computer consoles in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Not bad at all. Actually, someone should try something like that for real: A total ST:TNG makeover of the iPhone interface. [eBay via ...
iPhone prototypes go on sale: Video demo
SlashGear —
Two devices, supposedly Apple’s prototypes of the iPhone, have gone up for sale on eBay. The handsets - only one of which runs - are believed to be manufactured around six months before the launch of the original iPhone; the working device has a beta OS with a plastic matte screen and limited functionality.
Demo video after the cut
As you can see from the photos and video, the OS looks little like the shipping version of the iPhone. Functionality is also patchy: calls with an AT&T SIM work, and it has internet access, but only displays mobile versions of sites. SMS messages are received but the composer app ...
Agora, a página diz apenas o seguinte:
This listing (170308425742) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
