PMP Today — ... Good news once more for the computing public.  Asustek, the pioneer of cheap netbooks, is planning to launch an even cheaper Smartbook in the first quarter of 2010. This smartbook was shown at Computex with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Though we would be more excited with a dual core netbook, Asus is obviously keen on lowering the market price again of ultraportables. I wonder what Asus would call the smartbook… Smart Eee? ASUS Smartbook to Launch Q1 2010
Gadget Venue — ... will be included along with other application that could be downloaded. Although a few months ago ASUS were heard to say that there is no future for Smartbooks, it seems that there has been a major u-turn on this as the boss boldly expects sales to go very well. It will be an interesting year if Smartbooks do follow the success of netbooks although I’m not too optimistic myself, that perhaps might change if Chrome OS is installed on one of the devices.
