Pushing a small button on the end of the pen will cause a series of 4 LEDs to light up, indicating the signal strength of a nearby wi-fi hotspot, though it’s limited to B/G networks and it doesn’t provide any indication if it’s locked down or not. The UberReview — ... of them verge on the ludicrous. There really is no good reason why anyone would need Wi-Fi detecting shoes or a Wi-Fi detecting T-shirt. On the other hand, a a Wi-Fi detecting pen works. The USB Fever model shows B and G signal strength at nearby hotspots when a button is pushed and as a pen it is not something that is going to make you look like an enormous douche (like the guy in the shirt and the shoes).
