Microsoft gives Windows XP another reprieve: May 2009 cut off

... system, Vista, which was launched in early 2007. Microsoft has always claimed that Windows Vista is more popular than it really is; users have not reacted well to the newer OS.
This is the first time that Microsoft has actually cared about their customers, as most prefer XP still over Vista. This is just the latest reprieve for PC makers, who also prefer to have Windows XP installed, they are able to shift PCs with the older OS installed rather the newer version.
