That means that Best Buy will be the only place other than Sprint where you'll find the Pre for purchase on US soil for the first 60 days after launch (whenever that might be). Best Buy to get the Palm Pre exclusively?
CrunchGear —
... The two worked together last summer on the Samsung Instinct launch so there is a history here. Plus, when Best Buy has an exclusive, the retailer will advertise as such which will nearly double the amount of ad spots consumers will see. Both Sprint and Palm needs this phone to be hot and a Best Buy exclusive launch would do nothing but help out the fledgling wireless carrier and manufacturer. Lets classify this as a credible rumor. ...
Best Buy to Sell the Palm Pre Alongside Sprint?
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
... course. This partnership makes sense seeing the Sprint also launched the Samsung Instinct exclusively with them during the summer of 2008. This liaison will benefit all three of the companies in the deal. Best Buy will get its hands first which will make it the place to get the device. Sprint may come back to win over customers with Palm’s formidable touch phone.
Interesting. Chalk it up as rumor for now, but I could see this easily becoming reality.

Best Buy is no stranger to exclusive smartphone launches; it did the same thing in the summer of 2008 with the Samsung Instinct. The Pre will probably grab a lot of attention from the average consumer since Best Buy is virtually everywhere. This is a smart move by all the parties involved since it will increase exposure for the phone. The fact there is a deal at all lets you know that Sprint, Palm, and Best Buy think they have a winner on their hands.

Palm Pre exclusive retailer to be Best Buy?
Phones Review —
... that it will be going with Sprint the rumours start to hit the net waves.
The latest whispers is that Best Buy will be the Palm Pre’s exclusive retailer, which basically means other than Sprint, Best Buy will be the only place one can purchase the Palm Pre in the United States for the first 60 days after the Palm Pre launch.
Of course as yet we still don’t know when the Palm Pre will actually launch and also depends on if said rumour is true or not.
