Buffalo Technology intros two Blu-ray DVD combo drives

... MediaStation connects to a PC via USB 2.0 or eSATA while the internal MediaStation connects using a SATA interface. You’ll get a Cyberlink software suite bundled with these drives which include applications such as PowerDVD, PowerDirector, Power2Go, PowerBackup, and PowerProducer.
Both drives will be available later this month with the MediaStation 8x External Blu-ray drive selling for $399.99 and the internal MediaStation 8x Blu-ray drive selling for $349.99.

A day later, Sony also introduced their BWU-300S 8X Blu-Ray internal writer for the US market. As other 8X writers, this one can also burn 25GB BD Disc in just 15 minutes or less than half an hour for 50GB. The drive is pegged to sell at $400 with bundled Blu-Ray movie, Men in Black. Sony is taking pre-orders for now but will be available from next month.
