Skinny Concept Phone Drops Everything Except Calls
Wired: Gadget Lab — ... is misleading, and makes the Need look like a big toy sword. In fact, it is just shy of six inches long: An honest attempt, and it certainly lives up to the brief to "look like fashionable", but as even the most complex cellphones can make calls in just the same way as the simple ones, we wonder if such a thing is needed. The Need: just a cell phone
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... messaging fails. So I look at the Need concept phone and I'm skeptical. It's beautiful: a six-inch long OLED touchscreen of rod-like thickness that could only really do phone calls. But the simplicity of the design, the promise of its name only works if you still think a phone is just a phone with a lot of extras slapped on top to drive up the price.
