Now, Microsoft not only released Windows 7 public beta but also lifted the 2.5 million download limit initially set until January 24. The release of activation keys would be stopped on January 24 but it is possible that Microsoft would keep the software for further downloads.
The same scenario happened in Windows Vista Beta 2 launched on June 7, 2006 when it was only available for three weeks.
