New Sony Cybershot interfaces directly with Cyberspace
DVICE Atom Feed — ... Sony introduced their new $500 DSC-G3 at the CES Keynote this morning, but don't let the name fool you, there's no cellular 3G technology in it. It does, however, have Wi-Fi (801.11g) enabled web sharing and a web browser that enables users to connect to networks that require logins, such as those at popular coffee retailers. The lack of physical buttons can make switching modes a little difficult. In fact, making any change requires a minimum of two clicks. The 10MP camera shoots in a variety of formats as well as VGA video. While it does what no other camera before it has ...

Sony Cybershot with Built-In Wi-Fi, Web Browser
Wired: Gadget Lab — LAS VEGAS -- Sony has invented the webcam. Or at least, it has put the web into a cam. At CES 2009, the company debuted Cybershot DSC-G3, the first camera to have built in 802.11 (b,g) Wi-Fi along with a web browser. As a camera, it's no slouch. Ten megapixels, a 10x zoom, a hi-res 921,600-dot 3.5 inch touchscreen and smile detection. There is a decent 4GB memory built in, but if you want more you will of course have to buy a Sony Memory Stick. Of course, the Wi-Fi is the interesting point here. You can hook up to any Wi-Fi point and using the browser you can also sign in to hotspots. From there, you can upload directly to Photobucket, YouTube, DailyMotion, ...

O produto também oferece suporte a DLNA, permitindo o compartilhamento de fotos em redes locais, incluindo o próprio PlayStation 3, da Sony, e televisores equipados com a tecnologia. (...) (...) Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 WiFi Camera Announced
Mobility Site — I am not much for straying outside the coverage area here, but since I was a bit frustrated at CES with my ability to get info online quick, this one caught my eye. What is funny is that I bought what appears to be the exact same point and shoot Sony camera the night before CES, just no WiFi. This looks similar to the concept of using an Eye-Fi card with your regular camera as well. So, Popgadget is reporting that Sony introduced DSC-G3 Cyber-shot Digital Camera, the world’s first Wi-Fi camera with a built-in browser. Sony’s browser offers easy uploads via WiFi to some of the most popular image and video hosting sites. One that I like to see is Youtube, but I see Flickr absent from ...
