The clamshell/flip phone design finally comes to BlackBerry as Research in Motion has announced the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Smartphone. The Pearl 8220 has both an internal and external display with the external display useful for screening calls and previewing incoming messages. Pictures of the sequel to RIM’s first touchscreen BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) are making the rounds, following the new trend of rubberized side keys seen in the 9520 Gemini and Onyx, but aside from the 3.2 megapixel camera, there’s really not much other information available. Still, we dig the look, and if I was to take a guess, this would be the North American GSM Storm 9520 with Wi-Fi that we had heard about awhile back.
