Sprint have announced the LG Rumor2, the sequel to the popular Rumor messaging handset, complete with a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard, 1.3-megapixel camera, QVGA display and stereo Bluetooth. The Rumor2 also includes GPS - with Sprint Navigation preloaded - and a media player happy with microSD cards up to 16GB in size.
Other specs include access to webmail accounts and corporate email (the latter via the Sprint Mobile Email Work system) and two interchangeable back covers so you can “personalize” your Rumor2. Following inventory leaks and early pictures, Sprint (NYSE: S) has gone official on the Rumor 2, available in stores as of April 19th for $49.99 on contract after rebate. It should be online in the next couple of days, and word has it Alltel also has a version available here. LG’s Rumor 2 landed at Sprint today. The first Rumor reared its ugly head back in late 2007. This version expands on the first one by including an expanded QWERTY keyboard (an extra row of keys), A2DP Bluetooth, QVGA screen, battery cover for personalization, and 1.3MP camera.
The Rumor 2, which will be available in Black Titanium and Vibrant Blue, will hit the Sprint website on March 15th and Sprint stores on March 19th for $50 after a two year contract and $50 mail-in-rebate.
