The no-smut specification is a little troubling, since drawing a straight line through the massive gray area of propriety isn't a simple task, but the FCC has also proposed a version of the plan that would allow adults to opt out of the filtering. Coolest Gadgets — ... can and cannot consider as offensive. Martin has stated that the option of Adults choosing to opt-out of the filter and have full Internet access. But that really isn’t the issue. With the FCC deciding what is and isn’t offensive, they have to observe and analyze traffic. And that could amount to a massive invasion of privacy.
