pong watch will entertain you on long bus rides
technabob —
This homemade Pong watch will entertain you with retro gaming moves while informing you of the time.
The idea is inspired by Buro Vormkrijgers and his Pong Clock. You can’t control the game, but rather it’s a Pong game in which every minute the right side scores a point, and each hour the left side scores a point. The effect is that the score of the game is the time.
John Maushammer has spent a fair amount of time and energy on this, and has thoughfully shared not only a build log, but also, the technical ...
Incredible Pong Watch tells time through a lopsided score
Boing Boing Gadgets —
... John Maushammer has built himself a homemade Pong Watch, in which two automated players score points according to the time. The time telling mechanism is simple: every minute, the right side player scores a point, where as every hour, the left player scores a point, with the score reset every 24 hours along with the time. Better, Maushammer has shared the build log and technical plans so you can make your own. Think Geek, please start mass producing these, stat.

Homemade Pong watch comes with plans
CrunchGear —
... Finally something I’d like to build! This homemade Pong watch by John Maushammer includes full plans for creating this mini Pong game that tells the time by “losing.” Too bad my hands are so shaky from self-abuse that I can barely replace an XBox controller battery, let alone build a watch.
New Asteroids Watch From The Creator Of The Ping-Pong Watch
OhGizmo! —
By Andrew Liszewski
Not content with his original Ping-Pong watch design, John Maushammer is not only working on an updated design that includes buttons for changing the mode and a tilt sensor for controlling the paddle, but also the Asteroids version pictured above. Now there’s no word on whether or not the Asteroids version will actually be playable, but John apparently still doesn’t have plans to make the Ping-Pong watch playable since as he puts it; “I can’t think of anything more horrid than playing pong against a computer!” Trust me John, I’ll gladly pay ...
Play Asteroids on your wrist with tilt controls any time you want
DVICE Atom Feed —
Life is full of dull moments. You know, train rides, waiting rooms, visits with your girlfriend's parents. You crave some form of stimulation, but with none your eyes just glaze over and you zone out. What a waste of your precious attention.
If you had this awesome Asteroids watch, you'd be able to play the classic arcade game whenever you had some free time. It has a tilt sensor built in, meaning you control it by moving your wrist around. Not the best way to game on the sly, but certainly an interesting twist on the game. Oh, and it also tells time, which is cool, I guess.

Homemade Pong Watch (video)
GadgetReview —
It was years ago when we saw the Pong Clock go on sale, and oh boy did it cause a stir. Now one hobbyist turned obsessive has built a very polished watch version of the game. The build process looks very extensive and perhaps even expensive, but the pay off is a store quality watch that plays pong on your wrist while telling the time of day.
