... (unlocked) is up for pre-order in the UK on Amazon with a July 15th ship date. The list price? A whopping £429.99, which equates to $725.26. I’m honestly excited for this device having seen it at the beginning of June in LA during E3. Not that the Android UI is ugly or anything, but HTC has once again managed to gussy up a UI to make it look even more slick with Sense. So, anyone up for dropping this kind of cash on an unlocked Hero?

Amazon have confirmed that they now have the upcoming android-powered HTC Hero phone available for pre-order on their website. Not only that either, as they have also revealed a release date and the price for an unlocked handset.
As reported from Phandroid, Amazon.com have the HTC hero listed for £429, which is around 710 USD for everyone in the states interested in picking one up. They have listed a July 15th release date for the Hero, but as you know, it could change any time.

... that it will be launching on the 15th July, it still isn’t set in stone as this could be either their estimated date or just a random date thrown up.
The phone as can be seen above, will sell for £429 unlocked although if you don’t mind having a contract then Orange are planning to offer the phone for free on contract (which could work out more expensive over the 12 - 24 months that contracts hold you to, so do your research first).

... up here are unlocked and sim-free. Apparently these devices will be released/shipped on July 15th.
If you don’t mind waiting just a little bit longer, both Orange and T-Mobile will have the HTC Hero up for grabs within the next few weeks. Both carriers are gearing up to offer the device free of charge if they can lock you into a new contract for a few years.
