iPhone 3GS Unlock Video Demo
Limited Edition iPhone —
As you know the Dev team has jailbroken the iPhone 3GS using a modified version of Redsn0w(please note at the time of writing this article, redsn0w is not compatible with the iPhone 3GS). Since the iPhone 3GS has the same baseband as the iPhone 3G, Ultrasn0w will work to unlock it. Here is a demo of the unlock which should be available soon after the release of the iPhone 3.1 firmware.

Video: UltraSn0w works on iPhone 3GS
Tech Ticker —
The iPhone Dev Team has done it again. Check out the video showing the iPhone 3GS succumbing to Ultrasn0w and working flawlessly over another network (T-Mobile in this case). The Ultrasn0w tool uses at+xlog vulnerability to inject the unlocking payload, which actually works like the iPhone 3G unlock. One word of caution though, 3GSers should not update to the iPhone OS 3.1 if they want this unlock.

Dev Team Demos iPhone 3GS UltraSn0w Jailbreak
iPhone Download Blog —
Shortly after GeoHot released his PurpleRa1n jailbreak, the Dev Team posted a video showing a jailbroken iPhone 3GS running the UltraSn0w unlock.
Our ultrasn0w program uses the at+xlog crash as an injection vector of our unlocking payload — and it does so on the 3GS in exactly the same way as on the 3G! But this injection vector will be lost if you update to 3.1 using the official Apple IPSW, which updates the baseband. So stay away from official 3.1 IPSWs until we release the tools that let you update the firmware without updating the baseband. ...

Over the holiday weekend, iPhone hacker George Hotz released a jailbreak solution for the iPhone 3GS. (To clarify: jailbreaking is not the same as unlocking, but rather a hack to allow you to run unauthorized applications. Jailbreaking, however, is required in order to perform an unlock.) The Dev-Team Blog, who regularly posts iPhone hacks and unlock tutorials, has taken the extra step and published a video demonstrating its unlock solution for the ...

... 3GS jailbreak! With iPhone hacker Geohot’s purplera1n iPhone 3GS jailbreak utility already live and in the wild, the iPhone Dev Team has decided to go ahead and release their redsn0w iPhone 3GS jailbreak solution early. The Team had initially intended to wait until Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) pushed out the iPhone 3.1 OS update, but Geohot’s purplera1n release bumped up their launch window to, well, now.

The iPhone Dev Team has recently released an updated version of RedSn0w (Mac & Windows compatible). The Jailbreak program now works with the iPhone 3GS, 3G, 2G, as well as the iPod Touch 2nd generation using OS 3.0.
Allegedly the Icy & Cydia troubles have been straightened out and iPhone 3GS owners should be able to unlock via Ultrasn0w after jailbreaking through RedSn0w.
Originally the iPhone Dev Team was going to hold out on providing the jailbreak until OS 3.1 was released. All in hopes of obtaining maximum users, as with the new 3.1 ...
