It seems the "iPhone Nano" is the rumor that is going take the spotlight ahead of this year's Macworld, and while MacRumors is publishing these photos and rumors, we have some serious doubts about the likelihood of such a device.

As with most rumors that have been going out these days, hold them as just that… Rumors. I’ll believe it when I see it… But at the very least, lets open this up to discussion in the comments, shall we?

Once again, the web is ablaze with the rumors of the coming of the iPhone Nano. Rumors of the iPhone going the Nano way at Christmas have been around for quite a while. Now that Christmas is here, and the Macworld is about to begin, the rumors have gone off again. There isn’t any solid ground for the rumor, and the device itself appears to be a not-so-good fit for the current range. But then, you can never be too sure!

I'm unsure on this one. While the picture is almost certainly a fake, if the iPhone is to replace the iPod as we have previously speculated, there needs to be a Nano-sized product in the lineup. What do you all think? Is a smaller iPhone likely, desirable or even usable? Answers, as ever, in the comments.

To be honest my view is with the Apple iPhone why on earth would Apple want or even need to make a smaller version? The Apple iPhone has and continues to be a great success so just why would Apple want to push out a Nano to compete with the full fledged iPhone?
