Nimbuzz for iPhone- VoIP anywhere in landscape
jkOnTheRun —
VoIP clients have been a bit slow to make their move onto the iPhone, no doubt that Apple certification process takes a long, hard look at them. A new client is now available for the fruit phone, Nimbuzz which makes it possible to chat with your buddies using Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger (MSN) and Google Talk. One of the coolest features of Nimbuzz has to do with how you can use the app on the iPhone in landscape mode so you have the widest view possible of your chat. Nimbuzz is available from the Apple App Store now and you can sign up for an account at the Nimbuzz web site. Full press release after the ...
Nimbuzz brings its VoIP service to the AppStore
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
Just like almost any other mobile application/service developer/provider these days, Nimbuzz is going iPhone. The native app is already available through AppStore and allows users to call, chat and message with their friends on all major IM communities and social networks — including Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, Facebook, MySpace, AIM, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, and more.
And while Fring can already do pretty much the same job, what’s interesting with Nimbuzz’s solution is that it supports chat in the landscape mode, as well as the regional social network support (i.e. German StudiVZ, Dutch Hyves and ...

Nimbuzz updates its iPhone app to allow calls to landlines and mobiles
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
The multi IM network client Nimbuzz for iPhone has been recently updated. The new version of the application introduces dial-pad and the ability to make VoIP calls to landlines and mobiles via SkypeOut, and Nimbuzz’s major SIP provider partners including Gizmo5, Vyke, and SIPgate over Wifi. As a result, even the iPod Touch could be used for taking and making phone calls!
What’s also interesting about this release is that the available credit is shown on the dial-pad when using SkypeOut, which is kinda neat.
So if you still haven’t tried out Nimbuzz on your iPhone, now’s your chance. As a reminder, you can also use it ...
Article: iPhone Gems: iPhone OS 3.0 Instant Messaging (IM) Apps
iLounge | All Things iPod, iPhone, iTunes and beyond —
Instant messaging (IM) applications began to appear for the iPhone and iPod touch almost as soon as the App Store came into being last year, and users could occasionally rely upon them to send and receive text-based updates. However, Apple’s restrictions on background applications made instant messaging programs impractical, as users generally had to keep the IM app running to receive messages. But the release of iPhone OS 3.0 and the introduction of Push Notifications has made a significant difference in the usefulness and usability of iPhone and iPod touch devices as viable instant messengers. Now messages can continue to appear even when the apps are not actively ...
Siphon SIP App for iPhone Works over AT&T's 3G network? Holy Toledo!
VoIP & Gadgets Blog —
I tested Siphon, a SIP-based VoIP application for the iPhone, in California at ITEXPO. Interestingly, Siphon worked perfectly in California over AT&T's 3G data network. Yes, you read that right - VoIP over 3G! I couldn't contain my giddiness when I realized I could now register my iPhone with TMC's Asterisk-based IP-PBX and make/receive calls. I've tried Siphon a few times in the past and it never worked over 3G - only WiFi. I thought perhaps AT&T was now easy their restrictions and allowing it. (silly me) However, once back in Connecticut I tested it again and it didn't work. Apparently, in some parts ...
