Kindle 2 Dissected, Has Space for SIM Card Holder
The UberReview —
The folks at iFIXit have already dissected a Kindle 2 and have made an interesting discovery in the expensive innards. If you look at the circled region, you can clearly see that there is space for a SIM card (though there is no SIM card holder). Why the SIM card holder? My money is that there will be an international version sometime this year.
All I want is Wi-Fi and a decent antenna.

Kindle 2 gets stripped bare, reveals space for SIM card
T3.com All —
... like that kind of pessimistic thinking. Other discoveries from iFixit s journey beneath the Kindle 2 s skirts reveal that the E-Ink display can hold text even after the battery has been completely disconnected, that the processor clocks in faster than an iPhone 3G and that there s no protective covering over the screen at all. And you can get inside it by removing a mere 16 screws. To these people, that s practically like putting a door handle on the back. Link : Amazon (via iFixit , Engadget ) Related links: [image] ...
