If they aren't hackable, or easily moddable, they are pointless! I really hope they aim for interchangeable components, etc.

Lego announces line of digital cameras, PMPs, etc. for your teeny human friends
Engadget — ... Lego's just announced that it's teamed with Digital Blue to bring out a line of digital cameras, PMPs, and walkie talkies for children. As you can see, the products will have the familiar "Lego" look to them (though not constructed out of actual bricks), and though we ...

Lego launches digital camera range
T3.com All — ... kid-friendly kit, the words 'solid' and 'unbreakable' will probably feature more than the megapixel count. Saying that, if you're taking a camera out on a wild night out, that's surely no bad thing? And if it does break, sticking it back together will kill some dead time in the taxi rank. Prices for the US launch are quoted at a pocket-friendly $19.99 to $59.99, with larger items like boom boxes and alarm clock radios following later in the year. Bring it on! Lego Camera, MP3 Player, Walkie-Talkie Sadly Not Made From Actual Legos [Lego]
Gizmodo — ... How about a camera with little detachable lenses? Throw in a brick-mount plastic fisheye and a gimmicky zoom lens and you've got yourself a neat little lomo with a Lego twist. Or what if the MP3 player is componentized, so that the storage unit disconnects for uploading, then seamlessly integrates into the player's body? Anything to make these toys something more than Lego-themed—and therefore at least a little fun—would have been just fine. [KidsTechReview] ...

LEGO brands Digital Blue gadgets
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... have announced a partnership to bring several brightly-colored brick-branded products to market, and this cute little digicam (specs, price still unknown) is one of the results. You can't actually smash it apart into its component pieces — well, you can, but unlike most LEGO objects, you will not be able to reassemble it — but it still makes me happy: we've all got an affinity for the chaotic rainbow chromatism of kindergarten color schemes here at BBG. LEGO announces digital camera and more
CrunchGear — LEGO is the best toy ever made. And now you can have digital cameras, video cameras, MP3 players, walkie talkies, etc. Unfortunately the devices are not made from actual lego bricks so you can’t destroy and rebuild them. Too bad. Think about how much fun would it be to build your boom box the way you like, change the colors and the shape. The LEGO camera will go for $59.99 and the walkie talkie for $19.99. Lego camera can't be taken apart, unfortunately
DVICE Atom Feed — ... gadgets that are made to look lke they were built out of the famous toy blocks. It's pretty awesome stuff, although it's disappointing that it's not actually made out of real Lego pieces. You can't take it apart and switch the colors around or make a camera that's shaped like a spaceship. OK, so that would make for a pretty fragile camera, but come on! The whole point of Legos is to let you build stuff, to sell a Lego product that can't be taken apart just seems wrong. Kids Tech Review, via Gizmodo
