IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
... that makes the Sholes a formidable player in the Android space – 3.7-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera (with flash), 3G data, WiFi and GPS.
And, seeing as how AT&T’s version of the Motorola Droid will support the same 850/900/1800/1900Mhz bands that Rogers (NYSE: RCI) uses for their 3G network up in the Great White North, our Canadian friends have something to look forward to too!

AT&T, Rogers Getting Motorola Droid? [FCC]
Android Phone Fans —
... for it… but I wouldn’t argue with the FCC:
I wouldn’t expect this to hit AT&T any time soon… and maybe ever. This may just be a Canadian Rogers thing with Verizon getting the American exclusive, but that doesn’t mean its impossible or that you could snag it unlocked. Anyways, more Droid in more places makes everyone happy.
Am I wrong? Am I wrong? No Walter you’re not wrong you’re just… an Apple!

... unearthed by one of MobileCrunch’s tipsters there’s an AT&T-friendly version of the smartphone in the works. Motorola Sholes / Droid comes in US HSPA flavor, probably not US-bound
Engadget —
... a US exclusive, which means AT&T is a likely no-go -- the carrier's been strangely silent on Android, anyhow, and we haven't heard a peep of recent intel suggesting they're prepping Google-powered gear in time for the holidays. Of course, enterprising individuals will probably figure out how to unlock and import this bad boy, so if you're an American and the thought of switching to Big Red for a Droid makes you physically ill, take heart that there might yet be hope.

Motorola Droid (Sholes) with AT&T, Rogers 3G passes FCC
PMP Today —
... with North American 3G compatible with networks like AT&T and Rogers. Interesting, isn’t it? Don’t get your hopes up too high though as this is certainly no guarantee that it will get picked up by either carrier, but with all the positive things being said about the Motorola Droid (or shall we call it the Sholes again since the Droid name only applies to Verizon Android phones) it certainly wouldn’t hurt AT&T if this were their first Android offering.

Expect more news on the Droid over this next week as it prepares for launch.
