Launch for the Ruby was pegged at Q1 2009, so it looks like Motorola waited until the last minute to pull the plug. According to the initial rumors, the company planned several products in a variety of form-factors based on the Ruby design.

[image] RAZR phones from Motorola have been quite popular for a while in America. And it was the iPhone that managed to steal that top spot lately. Is that the reason for which the RAZR3 Ruby got canceled? The phone was supposed to arrive sometime in Q1 2009 but that won’t happen now. The reason, well at a guess, as the Motorola RAZR3 Ruby was on Symbian UIQ and since Motorola’s shift and reorganisation of its mobile department is now dropping Symbian in favour of Android, into the mobile bin goes the RAZR3 Ruby.
So if you are a RAZR fan I guess you better start looking for another handset if you were thinking of upgrading to the Ruby.
