... obvious and even creative spelling errors. Obviously, a word menu pops up if there are alternative options to a sequence of moves. A slight nudge upwards at the words will capitalize those words, and a wiggle will allow for double letter entry. The Swype technology was developed with the team focused on Windows Mobile (Smartphone's) the tablet version of XP and Vista, and Surface. However, this will significantly ease the iPhone's user experience if Apple adapts this technology. Source

... iPhone's screen is fine, but when you see the video (below), Swype looks lightning-fast -- way faster than my embarrassingly slow typing speed on even a real keyboard. Kussler says he can hit 50 plus words-per-minute.
Of course, this isn't on the iPhone yet, but if the ubiquity of T9 is any guide (installed on 2.5 billion phones) this could end up "everywhere and anywhere." Kussler already has a version for Windows Mobile.

How about that/ Swype is currently near prime time for Windows Mobile, with an SDK to bring it to other platforms in the works. ShapeWriter's Android version of WritingPad is forthcoming, and their iPhone version, which was released briefly before being pulled from the App Store for reasons unknown, should be back soon. No matter who brings it, I'm liking this. [CNET via Gadget Lab, jkOnTheRun, ShapeWriter] ...

... Swype, an amazing new system for writing on a touchscreen that allows you to keep your finger on the screen and simply move it around to the letters you want to hit. By doing so, the system can see exactly what word you're going for (even if you aren't precise), and you can write at up to 50 words per minute or faster. It's hard to understand just how awesome this is until you see it in action, so check out the video above. Let's bring this thing to the iPhone, and fast.
