... I think this is quite a valuable service. I don’t expect to use it to it’s full extent myself since I already have an exchange account, but for others, this is nice. I will use it for a few days to see how it pans out though. It syncs fast and the web based control panel is pretty quick too. I think this is very similar to Device Wire. Those guys might not like this service much, huh?

There have been reports of My Phone users were not able to successfully sign in on the phone, even though they received confirmation that their account has been successfully activated. Hee’s a fix for those affected:

Hey, 2008! Microsoft is calling. They just released My Phone, a sync solution that backs up your info and keeps your appointments and contacts synced with a web app. Why it took Microsoft this long to release a service like this is beyond me, but there you have it.
The system allows WinMo users to move from phone to phone and keeps a backup in case of breakage or loss. The service is currently free and you can sign up here.

Microsoft’s backup and restore service, Myphone has now advanced from limited-beta to open for all. It does not need an invitation and can be tried by any Windows Mobile handset user.
The free service works by installing a syncing app on the phone with the Myphone account. The app on the phone wirelessly backs up all the contacts, messages, multimedia content, documents and stores on the web account. Microsoft offers 200MB worth of free storage and scheduled automatic syncing.
