Logitech's Nano: Small Mouse, Big Name
Wired: Gadget Lab — Logitech's new v550 travel mouse (or, to give it its full stable name, the "V550 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks") is notable for a few reasons, not least of which is the use of a laser which pretty much turns anything, even glass, into a trackable mousepad. The first novelty is the tiny receiver which can be permanently attached to a USB port, hogging it like the dirty hippy that has been squatting in my garden shed since I last went on vacation. Logitech Nano mouse clips onto your laptop like a lamprey
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... Laser Mouse for Notebooks" looks like pretty standard fare — two buttons plus a scroll wheel, long battery life, proprietary (but tiny) wireless USB dongle — but it does have one, somewhat goofy feature: a small sticker with a metal nub to be stuck on the side of your laptop, onto which the mouse can be hooked and carried around the house or office. It’s apparently easy to attach and easy to remove, although I’m not sure what kind of stickum is used to provide said adhesion. The idea here, according to Logitech, is that “you’ll have one less thing to carry” from room to room. This mouse takes the idea of portability to a whole new level…because it clips to your notebook. I see. And the ...
