The notebook will be available October 25th for $1,100. If you order it by October 28th though, the NEC will toss in a Hello Kitty mouse and mouse pad. Oh joy, what girl could possibly contain herself when around all that pink.

Japan gets a portable Hello Kitty DVD player, the rest of the world doesn’t

First NEC’s supercute (and very pink) Hello Kitty laptop, now this: A portable DVD player shaped like Hello Kitty’s head [JP], this time sold by Sanrio itself (the company behind the brand).
The player comes with a 7-Inch LCD screen (resolution: 480×234), a built-in battery with a life span of 2.5 hours (an AC adaptor is included in the package) and an extracute remote control. DVD/DVD-R/DVD-RW/CD-R/ and CD-RW formats are supported. The player will only accept DVDs with region code 2 (Japan and Europe).

Epson Japan rolls out Hello Kitty netbook

First NEC’s model, then Onkyo’s and now it’s time for Epson to release a Hello Kitty laptop [JP]. The devices are only available in Japan, where they will be exclusively sold online starting December 10.
The Hello Kitty notebook is based on Epson’s Endeavor NJ2150. Buyers can choose between a combo model ($1,200) and a so-called super-multi version ($1,500). Both versions are available in two different designs.

... comes with the following specs: 4x digital zoom, CMOS sensor, one USB 1.1. port, 32MB of internal memory, compatibility to SD memory cards (up to 1GB) and a 2.4 inch LCD screen. I don’t know why but the camera is not available in pink, only in white and red.
It’s currently Japan-only (price: $150) but if you need a quick Christmas present for your girlfriend or sister, I suggest pinging these guys or these guys. Courrèges, in cooperation with NEC, branded a notebook with Hello Kitty back in October.

No LaVie (pictured), Hello Kitty, full flat or any other NEC computers for Non-Japanese customers anymore. The Tokyo-based tech giant today told Japanese media it will completely wind down its PC operations outside Nippon within the year and focus on the Japanese market instead.

The dream of millions of teenage girls around the world, Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, gets yet another notebook in Japan. This time, the cartoon cat is supposed to boost sales of an Epson model, the Endeavor NJ2150 in “pearl white”. It will be available in two different versions.
