... World Congress. The invitation indicates that Acer’s president and CEO Gianfranco Lanci will be speaking, and that the company intends on launching its first smartphone.
Acer first mentioned its intention to launch a smartphone in April of last year after acquiring E-Ten. At the time Gianfranco indicated the phone would be Microsoft based and that over time the company expected smartphones to make up close to 10-percent of the company’s revenue.

I haven’t posted on this before, but I’ve most certainly read a post or two rumoring an Acer Smartphone. Well, looks like the long time computer company will unveil the device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 16th.
Honestly, I’d be more excited about the buffet dinner and open bar, but then again I’m a lush for food and booze.
