Nokia Ovi Launches
GEARFUSE — ... period for a woman is actually Nokia’s attempt at an application store. According to TechCrunch and several other blogs, the service has launched but it’s hardly working. Search results yield nothing of value and the categories are all screwed up. Looking for a top ten apps list? No one’s been able to accomplish that yet. It’s not looking good for Nokia with a fucked up launch like this . Let’s hope that by Friday, Nokia has everything it needs to in place. Link

Nokia’s Ovi Store at Full Throttle
Cellphone9 — With some criticism on the store launch, all in all the Nokia Ovi store delivers the promise of a central hub for purchasing applications and building a developer community base. What I found more intriguing was the transparency and quickness of reaction from the Nokia Conversations blog that did admit to some server hiccups. See, corporate blogs work! iPhone News Updated — ... next to iPhone OS’s Safari and other newer entrants, and its e-mail handles plain text only. Third-party stuff: The Symbian OS has been around for so long that a wealth of useful software supports it, but most of these applications haven’t been updated to take advantage of 5th Edition’s touch-centric approach. Apple App Store vs. Nokia Ovi Store - A Quick And Dirty Comparison
CrunchGear — ... , it was clear that - despite its less than stellar launch - it would be a mistake to simply dismiss the Finnish mobile juggernaut’s efforts as meaningless. The company may be struggling to stay relevant on the software and services side, but with a reach like Nokia’s on the handset distribution level I think it goes without saying that a lot of eyes are firmly fixed on Nokia’s initiatives in the field.
