As promised by Nokia, they have released a S60 v3.0 compatible Photo Browser app. The application is available in two flavors – one with accelerometer support and one without. However, the accelerometer based app works only with S60 v5.0 and S60 v3.0 FP2 devices. I tried out the non accelerometer based variant on N82 and it’s not that bad. It’s slow initially because of the thumbnail creation process but works pretty fine after that.
