Nokia hints at new touch-based Communicator
Engadget —
... Every so often, Nokia will pop out a brick-like beast of a clamshell smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard -- a black sheep in Espoo's lineup in every sense of the word. These so-called Communicators even had their own custom Symbian-based operating system, ...
Concept shots show touchscreen Nokia Communicator
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
... E90 series has found quite a following among those who like to straddle the mobile and UMPC worlds, but it may be time for a little uprgade. If the keyboard is also a touchscreen, it could open up all kinds of possibilities, and not just for language support. Dual screen video à la Nintendo DS has proven the form factor could work, and with touchscreens becoming so popular, there’s no reason Nokia shouldn’t be putting one on all of their lineups.

Nokia full-touch Communicator concept phone
Phones Review —
... presentation slide showed off a nice looking new concept device.
This new concept device seems to be an all touch-screen mobile phone that converts into a Communicator when the pencil box design form factor is opened.
If you take a look at the image it appears that the touch-screen would then be able to swivel to face the keyboard, which also looks to be a touch-screen rather than a standard physical keyboard.
Nice one Nokia, will it become reality?

Nokia Teases Swiveling Touchscreen Phone, Leaves It Shrouded in Mystery [Smartphones]
Gizmodo —
... During an otherwise uneventful podcast on the S60, Nokia revealed this shot of an unnamed concept device. It features a big touchscreen interface like the HTC Touch or the iPhone, but a QWERTY keypad can fold out while the touchscreen swivels, transforming the candy bar device into a premium clamshell. We'll have to wait and see whether or not anything comes of the concept, but if Nokia knows what's good for them, we'll hopefully see the real product soon enough. [Cell Passion via ...

...
Nokia has finally taken the touch screen interface seriously. They unveiled their first phone to run on their special Symbian S60 5th Edition OS and as the capture above suggests, more can be in the offing. An eagle eyed blogger caught this concept during the streaming of S60 5th Edition’s webcast. The phone looks from the Communicator Series and if all things go well, we can expect this baby to see soon. Nokia still eyeing iPhone? Maybe yes.

Nokia Concept Phones: The Next Communicator?

... converts into a Communicator when the ‘pencil box’ form-factor is opened. According to the image, the touchscreen would then swivel to face the keyboard, which also seems to be a touchscreen than a physical keyboard!”
A combo touch-screen display/keyboard would be very, very cool. It’s too bad the image is so damn deceiving in itself - what’s with that gradient in the middle? Is the keyboard supposed to slide out and unfold too?

Touchscreen Version of the Nokia E90 Communicator
High Tech Lounge —
... version of the Nokia E90 Communicator. It’ll surely have a different name if it ever makes it to market, but you get effectively the same thing as the old E90, except the front part features a large touchscreen instead. The inner display can be a touchscreen as well, but I would like the see the QWERTY as a physical keyboard. Three touchscreens would be a bit much, but that’s what this concept seems to depict.
