Onscreen QWERTY keyboard is always a subjective issue. Probably this Japanese guy didn’t like the fact that his iPhone lacked a physical QWERTY so he decided to take the initiative by himself. Well, one enterprising modern has gone and "fixed" this problem by adding a physical keyboard to the iPhone. Sure, it ruins the elegant simplicity of the design, and it makes the whole thing bulky and awkward, but hey, a keyboard! Really, if you need a keyboard this badly, just stick with your Blackberry. Don't ruin an iPhone like this.
