Said UMPC will pack a 1.86GHz Intel Atom CPU, a touchscreen OLED display, 2GB of RAM and global 3G connectivity. OQO even goes so far as to say that it will offer performance "up to twice as fast as its predecessor." Did our heart just skip a beat over a UMPC? Why, yes it did! ... Model 2 s Via CPU and single gig of RAM. OQO promises "performance up to twice as fast as its predecessor". Hopefully that ll show a marked improvement on its running speed, which has previously struggled with Vista s intensive system demands. No word on prices yet, but like its predecessors, we d be expecting something fairly premium. For the chance to run a full blown Vista computer in a pocket-sized chassis, we expect it ll be well worth the extra outlay. OQO Model 2+ UMPC with touchscreen coming at CES
PCLaunches.com —
Yes, OQO is coming with a touchscreen PC. The latest ultra mobile PC from the house of OQO is going to be a high-end touchscreen UMPC with typical netbook specification. The Model 2+ is based on Intel's netbook-special Atom processor, and offers nice specification including the world’s first PC OLED display, 2GB RAM and 3G. But the best thing about this gizmo is its touch-sensitive OLED display. No word on other details.
