Windows, Mac Calculators Look Like Their OS Counterparts
Tech Blog — ... XP and Mac OS for inspiration and came up with these nifty OS Calculators. Yes, the "Windows calculator sports the classic XP color scheme, and even has menu headers." More pictures after the break. The designer is aware of the fact that it would be unlikely for either Apple or Microsoft to let any third party get away with making these calculators, so is leaving it up to the two computer makers to make real-life versions of their OS calculators. Lawyer bait: OS Calculators
CrunchGear — ... bit it’ll probably never make it to market. What have they done that’s so controversial? Created calculators based on the designs in Windows and OS X. It is a cool idea, though questionably legal. The person who did the rendering did invite Apple and Microsoft to contact him, but somehow I suspect it won’t be the kind of contact he’s hoping for. I have to admit though, I hope this product does get made. Good luck Mintpass! [via Technabob]

Both of these fun calculators are based on Windows and Mac OS, and as you can see from the photos they are designed to look like the calculators in both operating systems. Personally I think these look really cool, and would love one on my desk, sadly we will probably never see them being sold as the chances of Apple or Microsoft licensing them are pretty slim. via Technabob This is a post from Geeky Gadgets, who bring you the latest cool ...

Gadget Venue — ... your computer. Each calculator is basic in that it has no scientific functions and can pretty much just do basic maths, but if you want something different on your desk then these would look good. Unfortunately they are just concept and unless the designer can get permission from Apple or Microsoft then I doubt we will see them being created and sold anywhere. Check out a couple more renderings after the jump. Via: GeekyGadgets and Technabob OS Calculator Concepts > >

OS Calculators Reaffirm the Fact That You Still Use a PC
GEARFUSE — ... flavor as well. These OS Calculators recreate the experience of using your OS’s stock calculator app, even when you’re away from your computer. A Mintpass designer recently showed off these OS Calculator concepts. Both models similarly clones its OS counterpart. These calculators will almost certainly never exist, but hey, worth checking out anyway, just in case they do. Link [via] ...

Calculator concepts modeled after virtual counterparts
Mobilewhack.com — ... . The Mintpass designer has done a great job with these showing off their virtual counterparts in the bottom corners of the images. Would these ever hit retail? Most likely not because if they did the manufacturers would be looking at a hefty lawsuit. But hell, I’d buy one. via technabob Tags: ...

Via Technabob

Mac OS Software Comes Alive In Concept Form, 3D Apple Calculator Appears
ZiggyTek Blog — ... the software. The maximize, minimize, and close buttons are just there for show and don’t actually work, but hey, that’s why its a concept right and not in real life? The designer of the OS calculator concept knows that Apple would never allow such a device to be created, but brought the concepts out to the public, giving Apple the chance to do it. It would be a great gift for a tech geek, especially one who would appreciate an Apple calculator with the logo adorning the back. (Via Technabob )
