Leaked 4.7.0.83 firmware for BlackBerry Storm is .08 higher than .75

It's not clear what has changed at this point, but a brand spankin' new firmware for the Storm versioned 4.7.0.83 has just leaked out onto the interwebs. The good news is that -- if our math is right, anyway -- 83 is a considerably higher number than 76, so we're hoping that this cut incorporates all the changes in 4.7.0.76 that didn't make it into 75, the upgrade officially released by Verizon not long ago. CrackBerry has already installed BlackBerry Storm 9530: 4.7.0.83 update on his handset, and has already noticed how fast the phone is. As always you install this update at your own risk, and have a read of a few Storm forums, just to make sure that people’s handsets are not suffering with problems since the update.

Other suggest that the accelerometer is faster (though some users report it’s actually slower than before in the home screen) but that now the Storm can sometimes miss clicks in the corners of the display. Of course, as an unofficial leak you try firmware 4.7.0.83 at your own risk; installing it could affect your handset’s warranty or even break it altogether.

... made then by all means give it a whirl. Please make sure you take all precautions before updating however, I beg you. I can’t tell you if this update will be the exact same OS to be released by Verizon in their next OS update… Could be, or this could simply be an interim OS that was leaked. Either way, Storm owners have lots of new OS fun-ness to play around with this holiday.
