The Palm Pre won't be out for several months yet, but that isn't stopping a few clever hackers from working out how to boot Android onto the pebble-shaped slider. As it turns out, efforts to port Android to the OMAP 3 processor used in the Pre have been underway since July of last year, so tailoring the build to the Pre shouldn't be too hard -- the difficult parts will be gaining serial access to the bootloader to enable switching between OS's and cramming both systems plus whatever apps and media you might have into the Pre's fixed 8GB of storage, since there's no ...

... And word has it that the Android toting Palm Pre is a little closer as the route to changing the webOS to Android begins with porting the new OS to the OMAP 3 system followed by a 2 stage bootloading and further tinkering.
And apparently Android has already been ported to OMAP 3 by OmapZoom team. It is suggested that the USB MASS Stroage mode could allow hackers to place Android in the user storage section and then point the initial bootloader at those files.
