We know, we know. You wanted the review sooner. Well, you know what? It’s here now and we’ve busted through this handset like a Japanese tourist with an SLR in Times Square. So how does the Pre stack up against the competition? Can it contend with the top-of-line smartphones that are ...

Palm Pre Review
I4U News — ... first days. Overall their impression of the Palm Pre on the negative side is that the build quality could be higher ("feels like a Fisher-Price toy") and the keyboard is not ergonomic. On the positive side the screen is great, the form factor is great and the webOS is good. There will be tons of Palm Pre reviews coming most likely mid next week, but we have to hand it to Boy Genius Report to have the first Palm Pre Review as far as we know. Read the full Palm Pre review on BGR . Posted on Sat, 30 May 2009 00:00:00 CDT | by Luigi Lugmayr ...

The keyboard was supposed to save the Palm Pre, not doom it
Gadgetell — ... So back to the Palm Pre.  Has the keyboard become a liability if the tide is turning?  Perhaps.  Based on a quick review from Boy Genius, “It’s really not good. My hands aren’t that big (I can type faster than you could ever dream on a BlackBerry, iPhone or E71) and my thumb literally takes up 3 or 4 keys on the keyboard.”  This kind of not hitting the mark quite right is going to hurt sales, even from those that are drawn to the concept but believe they need a good physical keyboard. ...

The 404 353: Where the Sony PSP Go at E3 looks like Eric Cartman
Crave: The gadget blog — ... Moving on: if you're running out of toilet paper for the day, print out Boy Genius Report's Palm Pre review and wipe away. BGR unveiled the "world's first review" of the new handheld on Friday, and it also happens to be the "world's most poorly written review" as well. First of all, there's a code of ethics that comes into play here, and BGR still hasn't revealed how or why they decided to leak the review before anyone else. Journalistic integrity, anyone? And come on, dude: if you're going to leak a high profile review that you know will get a massive amount of hits, maybe ...

David Pogue's Palm Pre review leaked?
Crave: The gadget blog — ... . This is, in contrast, to the Boy Genius Report's "review" from last week, which only had a few praises and called the handset "second-rate." Only after numerous reader complaints did BGR update his post to say that he was reviewing a non-final unit.

Palm Pre Review Roundup
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... might just be one of the best phones on the market. Mark Spoonauer, at Laptop Mag: We've seen many smart phones come and go since the original iPhone, and the $199 Palm Pre is the first device we've tested whose user interface not only matches up well to Apple's offering, but also beats it in some areas. ... Palm and Sprint have a hit on their hands with the Pre, and the webOS is a smart phone platform to be reckoned with. Boy Genius Report: The OS is great. There's no ifs ands or buts; it's really ...

Palm Pre: What's everyone saying?
T3.com All — ... "To put it simply, the Pre is a great phone, and we don't feel any hesitation saying that. Is it a perfect phone? Hell no. Does its OS need work? Definitely. But are any of the detracting factors here big enough to not recommend it? Absolutely not. There's no doubt that there's room for improvement in webOS and its devices, but there's also an astounding amount of things that Palm nails out of the gate". Boy Genius Report "WebOS itself is off to a great start we think. Taking the hardware aspects of the Palm Pre completely out of the equation, it has a bunch of potential. ...
