We don’t know, given the changing trends in the storage devices, how long the optical discs will survive, but there is a possibility that Pioneer sees a bright future in the market, and that’s why the maker’s wish to built better and more powerful 1TB discs by 2013. The optical discs will be available only in ready read-only format until 2010, where after, rewritable discs shall also be available.
