... to use a combination of old and new technology to improve its robustness. They have used a plastic technology, developed by Cambridge University, to engineer the back pane (which manages the ink display) rather than the usual, more fragile, glass-based TFT panes. Other details about the device are still under wraps but there is talk about the device having battery life to last for days rather than hours. The reader is set for a release sometime in the middle of 2009.
