Jetta Company aquires IP for Pleo

Steve remarked that all the equipment needed to produce Pleos and accessories were all still intact and ready to go. Jetta is an established company with a 32 year history in manufacturing based in China and Hong Kong, and as part of their illustrious manufacturing history they have produced parts for members of iRobot's consumer robot line.

Intellectual property for the Pleo robotic dinosaur was tipped to be hot stuff when creator company Ugobe filed for bankruptcy, and that seems to have turned out to be true. Jetta Company Ltd have acquired not only the IP and assets from Ugobe’s bankruptcy sale on May 21st, but since they’re already the company responsible for physically manufacturing Pleo they’re apparently set to resume production imminently.

Jetta bought the Ugobe IP on May 21 and manufactured most of the robot during the wee one’s short run. Hundreds of Pleo fans will be able to continue to pet their Pleos while rocking back and forth and mumbling about “Seeing something nasty in the toolshed” over and over and not have to risk rubbing away the rubber on its skull and spine.
