... but, after a little thought, actually seems to be a good idea. The lamp can be used as a flashlight, but also as a flash for the iPhone's camera. We suspect that, in the latter case, it works just like a flashlight anyway, rather than popping on and off in sync with the camera's shutter, but a useful option nonetheless, and it eliminates the dreaded redeye.
At $80, the iV isn't cheap, but it adds some features not seen elsewhere. It even fits into a standard Apple Dock.

At this point I’m more interested in battery life than looks. However, I can’t cram the iV into my pocket and that’s a problem. On the other hand I have two broken Juice Packs on my desk.
