Rumor about the $99 iPhone wasn’t fully wrong. Customers will now be able to snag an 8GB iPhone 3G for just $99. However, the catch here is that the phone will be refurbished and will be locked to AT&T. The refurbished 16GB iPhone (White & Black) will sell for $199.
If the refurbished tag doesn’t dampen your excitement, then you should get one by tomorrow because we don’t expect the devices to sit on the shelf for too long.

Personally, I’ve never had an issue with any Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) ‘refurbished’ hardware. The price sounds right here, so as long as you don’t mind a few minor flaws in the casing, or knowing that the device was once owned by someone else… you should be good to go.
