European BlackBerry App World Confirmed for this Month
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
RIM VP Jeff McDowell (hey, we know that guy) has confirmed in a recent interview that France, Germany, Italy, and Spain will indeed be getting the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) App World this month as previously speculated, while Brazil and India are next on the list. He also unabashedly tallied the number of apps at 2,000, up from 1,000 at launch. Too little compared to the ridonkulous iPhone selection? Not so, says McDowell: “I don’t think it matters whether it’s 40,000 or 2,000, you’ve still got a broad range of choice.” It’s true that for the end user, it gets to a point where there’s no difference, but it certainly ...

Phones Review —
According to a report by Bloomberg, Jeff McDowell vice president of Research In Motion in a recent interview confirmed that the BlackBerry App World will be live in Spain, Italy, Germany and France this month, while India and Brazil are next on the list.
McDowell then released the amount of applications at 2000 which is up from the original 1000 at launch, and said when comparing those numbers with that of the iPhone App Store… “I don’t think it matters whether it’s 40,000 or 2,000, you’ve still got a broad range of choice.”
It does get to a point with the end user where the amount of available apps makes no ...
BlackBerry App World now home to 2,000 applications, RIM pretty stoked
Engadget —
It may have some 48,000 or so to go before it catches the runaway leader in app choice, but doubling up its catalog after launching just 3.5 months ago ain't nothing to scoff at. As RIM suffers through the traditional growing pains with its fledgling BlackBerry App World, it has managed to amass around 2,000 ...
