Rumor: New Dual-Touchscreen Nintendo DS in Early '09 [Rumor]
This is on the rumor-ier side, but Brian from Kotaku's man deep, deep in Japan has dropped him a tidbit about a new DS that might be in the works—one that bumps up screen sizes and finally replaces the top screen with a touch screen. The Nintendo DT, perhaps? Anyway, this certainly won't be hitting before Christmas, as Kotaku's source says "early next year" if true, which means a lot of ...

Dual Touchscreen Nintendo DS in 2009?
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... the part of me that is struggling with this rumor is I simply don't know what a top touch screen would add: the bottom touch screen is used meaningfully seldom enough as it is. On the other hand, Nintendo has a way of making seemingly useless gimmicks into system-defining backbones that make me feel foolish for my skepticism. Either way, we've got a lot of time to speculate: Nintendo won't even announce these babies until 2009. Providing they aren't just unicorns. Two Touchscreens On Next Nintendo DS Generation
High Tech Lounge — ... By expanding the touchy-feely experience to the second display, Nintendo may be able to better create Brain Age-like titles and other interactive adventures. The other rumor is that both screens will get a little bigger too. Don’t get your hopes up too far just yet, though, because there’s no way we’re seeing a new DS before the holiday season. Even the optimistic among us are looking at an “early next year” launch window. Two Touchscreens On Next Nintendo DS Generation Source: gizmodo.com
