Sorry dudes. Just it first hand from Brian Seitz, Group Manager of Zune: "No Zune phone at CES." Well, at least no Zune Phone as we're hearing it. A few days ago, some analysts stirred up the rumors of a Zune specific piece of hardware this week, complete with hardware details, which Barrons ...

This is an interesting if misguided article and,
coincidentally, I met with the Windows Mobile folks just
this week, so it’s good timing as well: In recent months, Microsoft's mobile strategy has hit a rough patch. In the third quarter, iPhone ...

Mobility Site —
More pre-CES information is flowing about the rumored Zune Phone project from Microsoft supposedly codenamed Pink. It appears that the concept of a Zune Phone handset is dead as dreams. Brian Seitz, Zune’s Group Manager at Microsoft told Gizmodo’s Brian Lam directly "No Zune phone at CES.".
Damn.
So now what? We still have the Pink rumors, we still have Ballmer talking about porting Zune functionality to other devices….does that leave us with anything?
Well, Paul Thurrott at his Window’s Supersite says:
Microsoft is working on a number of things before that major update, Windows Mobile 7. ...
Zune Mobile Coming at CES, but Not What You Think?
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
The latest Zunephone rumours are nixing any hope of new hardware from Microsoft, but all signs are pointing to a Windows Mobile service which will bring all the music service of the Zune to smartphones. Okay, so he doesn't have a thinner Xbox 360 than the rest of us -- at least, not one that's been captured on camera -- but Paul Thurrott still knows his way around Redmond, so when he utters the phrase "Zune Mobile," the cellphone-using world probably ought to sit up and listen. Rumors of ...
