Today, FCC gave is the information about a new version of ths Samsung Pixon coming to USA market. This is the Samsung M8800L. This specific version of the Samsung Pixon wil come now with 1900 and 850 3.5G, only compatible with AT&T; bands
Oddly, the Pixon has GPS and geo-tagging, but no Wi-Fi. If only HSDPA were widespread enough to make that a reasonable proposition.

This particular version of the Samsung Pixon, the M8800L is similar to the European version, but supports 850/1900MHz WCDMA bands and thus only compatible with AT&T, and still has that juicy 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus, flash, secondary video call camera, Bluetooth + A2DP, and a 3.2 QVGA touch-screen. Price-wise though and just when it will hit is still a mystery.

Keep in mind that the size of the image sensor, not the number of pixels it contains, is the most important factor in camera image quality. But a CNET review of this 3G, pixel-packing, GPS-geotagging, but Wi-Fi-lacking pocket-sized cameraphone calls its photos "worthy of framing."
Let's hope all other cell phone cameras follow Samsung's lead. Yeah, we're looking at you, you lousy 2.0-megapixel iPhone camera.
