Shuttle X50 Touchscreen Nettop Makes Me Miss My Lunchbox [PCs]
Gizmodo —
... about the X50 isn't the somewhat typical internal design but the simple, well-considered external configuration that's both wall-mountable and placed anywhere like a picture frame. No keyboard? Whatever, there's a handle! What else do you really need? The last word on the X50 was that it would be out this month for $499, but since that information wasn't included in this latest press barrage, we're guessing it could be delayed with a modified price.
Shuttle gets extra official with luggable X50 all-in-one PC
Engadget —
... this one packs a reasonably-sized 15.6-inch 1,366 x 768 touchscreen, along with the more nettop-minded Atom 330 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam and microphone, and a generous five USB 2.0 ports, among other standard fare. Unfortunately, it still doesn't look like this one is available to order just yet but, unless something major has changed since CES, you should be able to pick one up by the end of the month for about $500. Shuttle X50 all-in-one PC launches
T3.com All —
... up that now familiar Atom prcoessor (a dual core 330 in this 'case'), 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, 5x USB, Wi-Fi, a card reader and a 15.6-inch touchscreen. Windows XP OS naturally. And of course, that chunky carrying handle on the top for shifting it. If you want to add more bulk to the daily commute, the Shuttle X50 should sell for a not reasonable 349. Although you might want to check out some budget notebooks first. Shuttle's X50 touchscreen all-in-one
Boing Boing Gadgets —
... Similar to the Asus model we just reviewed, Shuttle's X50 is another nettop all-in-one. It too has a touchscreen 15.6" display with a 1366x768 screen resolution, 1 GB of RAM and an Atom CPU from Intel.
I has a 160GB hard drive, a webcam, gigabit ethernet and WiFi, and is sold with Windows XP. There are 5 USB ports and a memory card reader.
How, then, does it differ? Where the Eee is round, the X50 is square. And it has a handle.
