sexy-ski-dude skygym-in-action Unless this simulator is not having wipe out feature and throws you off the skis I d prefer the real thing because there is nothing more fun than having couple of broken legs. SKIGYM simulator lets you break a hip from the comfort of your living room

... a workout in the process. Apparently, you can either hook the fully-motorized device up to your PC and play the included Alpine Ski Racing game, or simply use it on its own as a piece of exercise equipment -- we're guessing it's also only a matter of time before someone uses it to control a robot. Not surprisingly, this piece of living room clutter will also put quite a dent in the old bank account, with it running €1,649, or roughly $2,300. [Via Random Good Stuff] ...

... Beaver Lake, Lake Louise and Chamonix. You also have your choice of 6 different disciplines including super G and slaloms, and the ability to adjust the difficulty level from junior to amateur to professional as you get better and better. At about $2,280 it’s considerably more expensive than Wii Fit, but I’d feel more comfortable tackling the real thing after practicing with this, than Nintendo’s offering.

SkiGym Beats Wii Ski For Realism, Simulated Danger [Extreme Sports]
Gizmodo —
... The SkiGym hooks up to a PC to use the included game Alpine Ski Racing, or it can be used as a standalone gym. The game includes 32 different courses from 18 real-world mountains, just to add to the realism. It's available for a bank account-crushing $2300, which if I'm not mistaken could purchase a pretty sweet ski trip, but if you're loaded and scared of crashing, give it a look. ... to play the game on. The technical specs of the PC are very low, so you shouldn’t have any problems running this game. The software included is Alpine Ski Racing 2007. The game also gives you the ability to try out different types of course like racing and slalom to name a couple.
Although it does have a hefty price tag of €1649 it still does look absolutely amazing and probably the closest you will get to the real thing in your home.
