Sony demos battery-powered, fully-wireless OLED TV
What's better than a ( cheap ) XEL-1? How's about a wireless, battery-powered XEL-1 ? Sony has recently shown off a completely cordless OLED TV with the same ultrathin chassis as used in the aforementioned 11-incher. Bulking things up a bit is the integrated HDTV tuner, and of course, it's ...

Gizmodo — Now not only can you get Sony's OLED TV for the bargain bin price of $1,748, you'll also soon be able to make that 11-inch hunk of visual sexiness completely wireless. Sony recently revealed a completely cordless version of the XEL-1 with an integrated HDTV tuner, a battery, and a wall mount. No specific information about the timing and price of the “I've got no strings” version, but Sony promises it'll be out "soon." [AV Watch via Engadget] ...

Sony wireless, battery-powered OLED TV unveiled
PR News: — ... seems that if you want it wall mounted, your viewing would be more comfortable if were on the shorter, smaller side as the size is pretty ridiculous if you live in a large property and over 6 foot tall. We don’t know much more about the specifications of the Sony OLED TV apart from its 3 millimetre thick which is pretty impressive. We have not been given any clue as to when we may see this mini OLED TV from Sony ready for purchase but we do have an image for you. Source: engadget

Sony XEL-1 OLED TV goes completely wireless
T3.com All — ... house with it in your hand for the sheer sake of it. Sony didn't go into details about how long the screen will run under its own power either, but we can imagine that its pointing the way to some pretty amazing laptop screens and application in other portable entertainment devices. Prices? Given that the current XEL-1 is a premium bit of kit already, we don't imagine installing a battery will do anything to change that. Availability hasn't been announced either. Sony shows-off Worlds First Wireless OLED TV
Fashionfunky.com — ... Its been spotted in Japan and is only 3 mm thick if you can believe that. The catch? Of course theres one, the only way that it could be wireless was by being OLED and the size though an improvement over the earlier 3-4 inchers is now upto 11 inches. I think we should pass on this one. Source

Sony OLED XEL-1 goes wireless, but still small
SlashGear — ... So now the wow factor has slowly diminishing, Sony is representing the new XEL-1 with wireless implementation, battery powered and boasts a built-in ATSC tuner, and better yet, 30 percent cheaper at $1748. I’ll stick to my original assessment, it wasn’t about the price. An ultra-wideband wireless chipset integrated into a newest display is not a stranger to us these days. I have to admit the battery powered feature is rather cool. (Assuming it doesn’t require power cord for recharging and the battery lasts weeks ) ...

Sony goes totally wireless with its wafer-thin OLED display
DVICE Atom Feed — ... so, wouldn't it be great to have a wafer-thin TV you could hang on a hook here and there as you go about your business? Maybe plug a flash drive in for your own movies or music? Add a processor, touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Google Chrome? Hey, wait. That would be a tablet PC. OK, yeah, let's have one of those — with an OLED screen. Just keep the price under $500 and you have our undivided attention. AV Watch, via Engadget
