Ran into a great nugget over at Brighthand this morning. Instead of $200 w/ contract directly through T-Mobile, you can score a G1 from Amazon for $97.00. Now, you need to be a new customer and sign a contract, but if you are in the market anyway, why not.

Amazon sounds like the place to be if you're looking for basement bargains, and this time round you can have a T-Mobile G1 delivered to your doorstep for just $97, which is a whole lot cheaper compared to forking out double that amount ($200) with a contract via T-Mobile directly. Of course, the $97 price point requires you to be a new customer and hook up with a contract as well, but if you're already going to take the plunge, why not save a cool Benjamin in the process? Times are hard these days in case you haven't noticed.

If you are contemplating purchasing the Google Android T-mobile G1, but are waiting for a real good deal to come along, well now maybe it’s the right time to buy as Amazon has a deal running on the T-Mobile G1 for $97.00.
The rules are you have to be a new customer and you will be required to sign the dotted line for a two year contract, but if you’re really after an Android T-Mobile G1 it’s worth thinking about.
Oh, and the Android T-Mobile G1 for $97.00 is only available in black so if you want a white version I guess you’ll have to keep on waiting for the right deal to come along.
